• I’ve been working on new stuff. It’s not the easiest work to share. In fact, it’s just the kind of thing that goes one step or two down Vulnerable Rd. Reactions are all over the place too. Anyway. I’m just gonna put it out there. Throw it on the wall. See if it sticks. It’s intuitive art. It’s meditative. I’m painting from my mind’s eye. I’m using dreams. It’s fun. Im liking it.

  • I can’t believe it’s been a year since I’ve posted…but then again I can. Because the year was 2020. Anyway, Enough about that! I’m moving forward into the Year of the Ox. Which is my year! 1973. I’m a Water Ox, that always makes me think of water buffalo. And I start singing Veggie Tales. I do have some plans for this year. I find making plans a little scary after having almost all of my plans last year completely demolished! Well, artwise anyway. It was not so bad personally. Personally, I was able to have much more time at home with my family. That part of 2020 was wonderful and I hope that will continue forever.

  • Tree of Life 2

    Happy New Year!

I have so many expectations for this year. I hope you do too.

  • Papier mache

I love mix media! I love collage. I love papier mache! Here’s a video of my process! I love that you can build and paint and add and, and, and… It’s hard to know when to stop but the process is so fun! It’s messy and therapeutic. It takes patience and time. Lots of time. But I love it! And I love teaching it too! You can find more examples of my sculptures on my instagram account.

  • Peter and The Wolf

This year is starting off quite well! Almost two months down in 2019 and my family and I have been very busy. I’ve been doing quite a bit of graphic work and working with new programs. Learning curves aside, I’m enjoying learning new things and pushing myself. It might not look like it sometimes.

I’m really proud of the work I’ve been doing for our local ballet studio, Central Texas Youth Ballet; we work closely together with Arts Alliance of Central Texas. I’m thrilled to be a part of our arts community. I strongly believe in working together for the growth and betterment of the arts. I want to see opportunities like this continue for my kids.

  • I recently began co-managing the artisan market with a good friend of mine. We have been doing the market together for a couple of years now and hoped to keep it going. It’s been a lot of fun, hard work and a learning experience.

We are currently preparing for the last market of the year: the Handmade Holiday! The big one. Ever hopeful that people will come Christmas shopping. It’s a nice group of artisans and a great way to wrap up the year.

  • As fall approaches and kids go to school, artisans start to pump up their inventory. At least in Texas, where it’s too hot to have markets in the summer! And I’m part of this rush too. Although, I’m a homeschooler and I’m juggling preparing to teach and show. It’s an exciting time! It’s my favorite.

  • Spring is here! March was my first market since a very busy Christmas season. I focused my attention on pieces for kids since I worked with my kids’ co-op who had their first ever market day. It was truly inspirational to see how hard they worked. I am able to teach art to these wonderful kids and I’m lucky to have other mamas who support our co-op and teach sewing, science, and archeology. They all made this market come together for them. I had a decent market day but honestly the kids killed it!!! They sold out of most of their items. They were awesome.

  • Holiday Shows

It’s that time of year! Christmas. Holiday markets. I’m trying to make things for my upcoming shows without burning out my holiday spirit. I really do love Christmas. Actually, I really love all holidays and traditions. I love the following of seasons and making memories. I love learning about how people and cultures all over the world do things. I am fascinated by what people take the time to create. To leave to the ages. Which makes me think. I don’t want to make a bunch of stuff. Our holiday decorations hold so much memory. We still have ornaments from our first Christmas together and ones the kids tell stories about. When we were poor. When we weren’t. What we loved at that time. Where we lived. What we put on the tree can be a little history marker.

  • I love fall. The weather, Halloween, Day of the Dead and Thanksgiving. The beginning of three solid months of decorating…maybe four. I made some things…
