• It’s in between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. I had some gifts for mamas that went over well and it’s time to start thinking about the papas. Dads are so hard to shop for…. I think I will create a counterpart to this mama bear painting. Look for Papa Bear, coming soon!

  • The Easter nesting dolls are complete! Today they get a coat of varnish and tomorrow they go to the market. I was going for a “Golden Book” look. I think the lamb is the most successful, at least it’s my favorite. I have a few more items for Easter, as well. Some trinket bowls, earrings and cards. Now we just need some good weather for tomorrow!!!

  • It’s February in Texas. It’s warm. The robins are passing through the hill country and things are blooming and leafing out. So I’m thinking about Easter. I’m attempting to attach bunny ears to the largest of these nesting dolls. It’s kind of a collage slash papier-mâché thing. Stay tuned….

  • Making time to do work, make art, is a constant struggle. There’s a bajillion other things to do. Bajillion is a technical term. I promise. So… despite the awesomeness that is Sunday morning, best morning of the week, I took myself into the studio and painted. I almost cleaned it. That would have been more procrastinating. So instead I worked on a painting, one of many, that I had started but had not finished. It’s a painting for my daughter. Even better, a gift of love. What better reason to make art today?

  • It’s a New Year! Year of the Rooster. Time to strut my stuff. Time to get to work. So many things to do! And I’m not very good with being busy and schedules. I can losing hours poking around the studio, browsing, sipping something. But if I’m going to make all this work, those things I want to do, I have to merge. I have to couple busyness with creativity. It’s going to be a little uncomfortable.

  • My last booth set-up from the Artisan Market in Dripping Spring. I will have more inventory this fall for the upcoming shows!

  • The SierrasRoot Etsy shop has a few items available! Check it out!

In the next few weeks, I’ll be working on adding more inventory and submitting to a few shows. angelkitty

Well….after much talking and procrastinating, I’m finally getting back into doing my art. A dear friend talked me into doing a show. Doing a show requires some inventory. So, I had to do some work. I had to do all those things I had just been putting off. I opened an etsy account, I got my booth set-up, set up. It was really good for me. So, here goes this art thing I like to do….
